The "Morino Vecchio Trail" is a hiking trail in the Zompo lo Schioppo Nature Reserve that connects the ancient village, destroyed by the 1915 earthquake, with the Piano Sacramento rest area. It's an easy tourist route, accessible on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback. It lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes, extends for 4.7 km, and has an elevation gain of approximately 280 meters. Its significance stems from the earthquake of January 13, 1915, which destroyed the entire village of Morino, causing tens of thousands of deaths between Avezzano and the Roveto Valley. This village, like others that were damaged, was never rebuilt. The survivors moved to a new settlement on the valley floor.
